I bought this chip to replace a tow chip that was causing my transmission to shudder when hot. I had avoided chops like this that offer power boosts as I just wanted the engine to work well stock The new chip is so much better than the my old tow. Chip I had been shifting my auto trans manually on steep hills in order to get enough power to get up. With the new chip in the lowest 40hp mode I no longer have to manually shift I thought my engine was getting worn out and no longer had much horsepower, but it just needed this chop to operate well. The transmission also shifts better and smoother I also have experienced about a 2mpg increase.
Other than a misunderstanding about where to hook up the module (I had the unit plugged into the wrong port) installation was a breeze. The correct port for a 2008 VT365 International engine is on the valve cover (front of the engine) found on the passenger side. Once installed correctly it works great, at the 20% setting I have noticed a remarkable improvement in engine performance. I can now climb moderate hills in 5th (top) gear without downshifting. My truck used to shift down about a third of the way up the hills. I’m looking forward to increased fuel economy just from this improvement in performance alone. Great product!
Module is as described ,was easy installation and is working awesome ,new life in the engine ,especially when towing, .installed on a Damon ultrasport 2000 awesome support from the company .
I’m impressed with this tuner module! It has boosted my mileage 3 mpg by itself. I installed a B&S cold air intake a few days ago and it added another 2-3 mpg and noticeable our improvements with each upgrade. Anyone I see driving the 3.0L Duramax gets a recommendation for this module. Best upgrade $ you can spend!
